“ Great BBQ! You can never lose with the pulled pork sandwich... get the large one. Also, one of those two meat combo plates hit the spot. Since I always stop by when I'm traveling through, I get one of each. Sandwich for the road and plate for later. Don't forget the sweet tea and pound cake. ”

“ Dined at Hook's for lunch many times over the years. Consistent quality and service. The HOT BBQ sauce is not for sissies but IS to die for if you like it hot! Picked up a couple meals at the Drive-Thru last evening, just too hot in Troy to fire up our kitchen! Wife ordered Rib Plate (comes with 2 sides, bread and cake), I opted for the Chicken sandwich platter with two sides. The thoughtful gal at the window advised they add 3% for CC now, thankfully I had enough cash.. a rare thing! Just a drive around the building and about a 6 minute wait and we feasted!! I've never tried the ribs but wife had plenty to share,,,, very good; with the hot sauce of course. Smoky and tender! Sides are southern sides... lotsa mayo and milk in that slaw and mayo in the 'tater salad! Ambiance? OK for a BBQ Joint but not a place for private conversation! ”
“ Hook's BBQ is a bit hard to find, but once you find it, you will be glad that you did. There was adequate parking and walking in, I approached the counter and placed my order to the friendly woman behind the cash register. After ordering. I found a seat and waited for my name to be called. The inside has the ambiance that you would expect from a barbecue place. Soon enough my name was called and I received my meal. I had ordered the large pulled pork and for my two sides. I went with French fries and baked beans. It also came with two pieces of bread and pound cake. I opted for the hot barbecue sauce. All in all, I was impressed with my meal. It was good and it was pretty competitively priced. Hook's BBQ is a great place to have a meal if you are in the Hoover, Alabama area. I would definitely recommend here and give it five stars. ”
